Social and Community

We understand the importance of engaging clients in valued activities and we aim to do this in all programs that we conduct. All Mirridong Services programs have a social or community component to the activity. They cater for a variety of interests including arts/craft, sports, wood-art, cooking, social and recreational outings, leisure and skills development.

Social connections are built within the community through the Visitor Information Centre and the Op-Shop. Our aim is to support people to reach their goals and aspirations: our disability support services give us the opportunity to do this. We operate a modern bus service that is registered under the Bus Safety Act 2009 which is available Monday – Friday during day service operating times throughout the year.

Mirridong Day Program

Our Day Program staff are skilled with an expected minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent, and all staff are committed to meeting the individual needs of clients.

Mirridong Services Day Program is funded by the participant through their NDIS plan. Requirement for participants to:

  • have funding for Social and Community Activities in the NDIS plan

  • have an intellectual disability

  • be at least 18 years of age

Yarram Visitor Information Centre

Mirridong Services, in partnership with the Wellington Shire operates the Yarram Visitor Information Centre and Gift Shop in the original courthouse building in the centre of the township.  

This centre provides clients with a unique opportunity to interact with visitors to the area in a setting that allows them to impart their local knowledge in a valued and supportive way.

Mirridong Pre-Loved Goods & Training Centre

Mirridong Pre-Loved Goods & Training Centre is a volunteer-run enterprise that started operating in September 2018 to provide Mirridiong participants with opportunities to develop skills in retail and customer service. Proceeds from the business are used to support the operations of Mirridong Services Incorporated. Visit our Facebook page
